Kate in Reiss Coat For St George's Park Opening

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited St George's Park today for the official opening of the Football Associations new facility in Burton-Upon-Trent in Staffordshire.

Prince William is president of the Football Association and has been a supporter of Aston Villa for some time and no doubt felt in his element today. The Palace jokingly said Kate hadn't brushed up on her offside rule 'I'm sure if offside rule comes up, the Duke will gallantly explain' :)

St George's Park is the FA's new National Training Centre. The 330 acre site boasts twelve full size pitches, medicine and sports science facilities, two hotels and a football centre. The £100m site is one of the most advanced sporting facilities in the world and it will be the training ground for all of the England teams.

The couple toured the facility and met with players. During the tour Kate joked about putting on her trainers for a kickabout.

William and Kate exchanged smiles before William made a brief speech.

Their Royal Highnesses unveiled a plaque.

Kate wore the £325 Reiss Angel Fit and Flare coat from the Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. The military grey knee length coat features a large wrap around collar and smart multi stitching detailing.

Reiss

Yesterday Kate wore the burgundy Paule Ka suit she previously wore to a pre-christmas lunch at the Palace. Today Kate's coat appears to be the same one she wore in Sandringham before the Christmas service for a walk with the royals. Interesting to see Kate recycling these stylish pieces from her Winter wardrobe.

Kate accessorised with the Reiss Betony belt from the Spring/Summer 2009 collection and her black suede clutch.

The Duchess wore her Kiki McDonough 18ct gold amethyst and diamond drop earrings.

Kate wore her black Aquatalia Rhumbaboots. An excellent choice with the coat and of course the very cold climate... Many of you mentioned recently that you loved Kate's pre wedding style which included coats and knee high boots. Great to see Kate choosing these styles again.

There are four great videos from the visit at ITN Source.

Kate has a full day of solo engagements tomorrow beginning with a visit to Newcastle Civic Centre at 10.30 a.m.

Thank you, Charlotte, for another wonderful post! I love seeing the Duchess in these beautiful coats and boots, and the coats she wears look so smart accessorized with belts. I look forward to seeing how well she carries out the next few engagements on her own, I am sure she will do a wonderful job!

  4. great coat and boots.

but i'm not loving the belt: it throws the lines of the coat off, and makes it looks too much like other coat appearances she's made.

on the other hand, maybe she's tired of all the pregnancy speculations that arise whenever she wears a loose-fitting coat/outfit? :)

  10. What an excellent outfit today! I loved the coat-belt-boots ensamble. Weather appropriate, good proportions, lovely hair (looser curls, I think?), plus, both Kate and William seemed to be truly enjoying themselves.
I suppose the nude photos brouhaha is behind them by now, and they both love sports.
A very good day for Kate.

Hi! I love the coat and the boots, but I'm not a fan of the belt. It looks like the one she wore in Denmark last year, and to me, the two of them look very very cheap. Except for that, she looks amazing as always!

      Dear Charlotte,
do not worry about people like this "Anonymous". There are people who just want to provoke and hurt others. It seems unbelievable to people like you and me and the great majority of your readers, because we enjoy paying respect to each other and feel wonderful if we can give support.
I am happy whenever I read your wonderful and intelligent posts, I hope you are happy about my feedback now, but others are happy in a pervert way if they can spill out their negative attitude wherever they go.

      Dear Anonymous,
if you really feel the need to hurt others, try to find someone in your life who can give you a face-to-face-answer, try with family members or friends. OR do something totally new: Think about your rude statement, feel ashamed and start anew and join us with a positive post this time. I would be happy about that. :-)

    10. I don't know why my comment has provoked such vitriol. Perhaps I didn't express myself clearly enough. I think it is a shame that any kind of criticism of Kate Cambridge is now banned on this site. I posted before praising the author of the blog for allowing discussion of Kate's role etc.. I think it encouraged intelligent comment rather than just simple observations about her hair and clothes. It was certainly not meant as a personal insult to Charlotte. I apologise if you took offence .

      Delete
    11. Sorry, but that remark is disrespectful to Charlotte who takes the time to write these posts to inform and entertain those of us who *are* interested in the subject matter.

On the other hand, if respectful and upbeat comments are "boring", then Amen to boring. :)

    12. Anonymous - I assure you constructive criticism is always welcome here. The general conversation on the blog had become increasingly hateful and the number of comments containing profanity that I could not publish were coming in their dozens every day.

The majority of them were in reply to an ongoing conversation regarding how much Kate does/does not work and what she does in her private time. I do see how we can accurately ever know what Kate does/doesn't do. Again, I wish to stress constructive comments and health debate are incredibly important.

I believe the readers of this blog are intelligent, respectful people and a significant number of them felt uncomfortable commenting because the conversation had turned to Kate's work/lack of work each time. The majority of the readers here are not fans who think Kate can do no wrong. In the comments underneath each post you will see a variety of opinions but at all times respectful ones.

I do apologise if you or other readers find the change boring but I must run the blog in a way I feel is fair to everyone and I always want those who wish to comment to feel happy to share their opinions here. I do appreciate your feedback as both positive and negative feedback is *essential* for growth.

I am convinced that Kate does not have extensions, simply because she does not need any. She has got rich hair by nature as we can see in the photos that Charlotte showed in the "Kate loves St. Andrews-post". She almost has too much hair on her beautiful head - if that is possible at all.

    2. I will try to find the photo I saw not too long ago, Marion, and post the link. Kate was leaning over to sign something and it was VERY obvious she was wearing some sort of hair extension or wiglet.

Plus if you look at photos pre and post wedding the difference in thickness and bounce is quite striking.

Personally, I don't care if she wears them or not. If it makes her happy, so be it, but I don't understand the need for secrecy!

Thank you Charlotte again for this great blog.
I loved the Duchess today as always. Her outfit was just stunning. I do believe it is the same dress coat she wore at Christmas without the belt. And poor William, another blue suit. Maybe his Duchess need's to do a make over with buying him a few new suits in different colors. William would look good in anything he would put on. And to the person who can't even sign their name and call's this blog boring, all I can say is they are chicken to be named and call Charlottes great blog boring. In my opinion if you are going to say something negative, put your name on it, and if you are to chicken to do so then keep your mouth shut. And go elsewhere.
Charlotte works to hard on her free time to bring us fans all this great stuff regarding the beautiful Duchess and is entitled to respect here. And again if you can't respect Charoltte and the rest of the great fans here, then keep your mouth shut.

I can wait until tomorrow and all the engagements she has to do solo. The Duchess will do a great job and will make her Prince proud.

She looks lovely - it’s a nice outfit, really appropriate for the season and the event. The coat is beautiful with interesting details, I like how the collar can be worn in different positions. It’s a very elegant piece, but I’m not too crazy about the colour. Love the boots though! I’m happy to see them back. 27. Isn't it time we started talking about the actual work the Duchess of Csmbridge does instead of the constant analysis of does she wear extensions, is the belt right? This is the 21st century! Surely she deserves better than this? Princess Diana did so much more to raise awareness of global issues. She is not a fashion model or voiceless puppet.

    1. Diana evolved into who she became. Just as Kate will grow and evolve. People expect this girl to become another Diana in under two years. Perhaps she does'nt want that? Perhaps she just wants to be a wife, future mother and support her husband. She has every right to be who she wants to be.

Diana did not do all those things immediately; nor did other members of the Royal Family.
Catherine is not Diana; nor is she in the same position as Diana was and it was made quite clear at the time of the engagement that she would have limited engagements whilst William was serving in the RAF.

Again why do we need to get back on the subject of the Duchess's work. We as fans do not know what the Duchess does with her time away from the media.

As William said in their first interview together, the Duchess is NOT his mother nor does he want her to be compared to her. The Duchess is her own person and will do her own charity work. But some of you here don't think the duchess is doing enough. She is not a full time working royal yet and when she does become a full time royal then she will do what the Queen ask's her to do and she will have more charity work. But until then let's just leave this subject alone. And let the Duchess do what she is doing and that is being a military wife to William, working on the charities she has now plus the one's William has and whatever the Queen wants her to do.

And please do not compare the Duchess with her beloved mother in law. William does not that to happen. RIP Princess Di.

  29. Fortunately it did not seem to be too windy, judging by these photos. I was concerned that with her hair loose it would be blowing in her face constantly. I'm long haired like Kate, and hair blowing about in the wind can become a problem for me. It can obstruct your vision, get in your mouth, distract you from what people are saying to you, and just generally get in the way and be a pain in the neck. I've been criticised on the Daily Mail website (but then, who isn't), with people saying I have no right to tell her what to do(laughable, given the context), but if I did have her ear, I'd like to warn her that it would be best to tie her hair up when she's going out. And wear a heavy or straight skirt or pants on an aircraft terminal. Perhaps I should apply for stylist?

I think she always had a very great body and she was always confident about it... Maybe during her wedding and honeymoon days when she was patheticly thin and awkwardly disproportionate, she was insecure after all the nasty comments. Now she is back to normal and Glad to see it. :) I feel she works really hard to keep her body in shape, all that yoga and reiki suits her just fine.
