The taupe shoes are undoubtedly Kate's go-to choice. They're obviously very versatile as the Duchess wore them throughout the Canada Tour in 2011 and the South-East Asia tour last year - two very different climates (on an off topic note, I couldn't help but admire the quality of the Erdem and Temperley lace dresses below).
Indeed, the pumps have proved so popular royal photographer James Whatling took a close-up shot of the Sledges following
The patent leather platform court shoe have become incredibly popular thanks to the 'Kate Effect' and are worn by businesswomen who want a comfortable yet stylish shoe for work wear and by others for an evening out or formal events such as weddings and parties. It is thought Kate owns several pairs in different colours. They come in a vast array of colours now, from practical hues such as Black, Peacock and Clay...
...to more vibrant shades including Lemon, Glitter and Red Currant (currently reduced from €329 to €197).
The Sledge pumps are not the only L.K. Bennett style the Duchess wears. Below we see Kate in the brand's 'Art' shoe. Not the most eye-catching shoe the brand has produced but a very practical choice for the couple's final pre-wedding engagement in 2011 and a nice match for the Amanda Wakeley suit.
For the ARK Gala in 2011, Kate chose the very pretty L.K. Bennett Agata sandals.
We know Kate loves her wedges. They're comfortable yet stylish with the bonus of additional height. One of her favourite pairs are her black L.K. Bennett Greta wedges . The Duchess has worn them on several occasions, most notably the days before and after the royal wedding.
The Maddox is an incredibly similar shoe, creating a modern silhouette with a summery twist. The wedges are currently reduced from £175 to £125 at L.K. Bennett and also come in taupe.
The Duchess looked radiant at a charity polo match in Santa Barbara in 2011 wearing the L.K. Bennett Sandy sandals.
From the Product Description:
'The Sandy sandal from L.K. Bennett epitomises the discreet charm of the bourgeoisie: an absolute gem on account of its classic and seductive allure, and its quality. This fabulous glossy leather winds finely crafted leather straps over the instep, supported by a stiletto heel.
The Duchess debuted a new pair of shoes by the much loved British label at a reception this year - the L.K. Bennett Harper in light taupe. The closed suede court has a concealed platform, which adds height and definition to the Harper. The stylish dress shoe is on sale at the moment, reduced from £195 to £115.
For red carpet events we regularly see Kate in Jimmy Choo designs such as her Vamp Sandals.
The dazzling sandals feature crisscross straps of glitter-infused fabric, an adjustable strap with buckle closure and a high heel of 4 1/2" with a 1" platform. They are made in Italy and retail for €616.
We also regularly see the Duchess selecting her Jimmy Choo 'Cosmic' Pumps for engagements and formal functions.
The black suede pumps are beautiful shoes. The striking closed toe platform heel is made in Italy and the heel height measures 4.7" with a 1.2" platform. They're sophisticated, chic and black works with everything. The shoes perfectly complimented Kate's gorgeous Alexander McQueen strapless gown at the Sun Military Awards in 2011. The whole look was one of Kate's most regal in my opinion.
A look at Kate's Rupert Sanderson Malone pumps.
Kate is a fan of Prada pumps and has them in black, pink and blue suede with a pointed toe and square footbed.
Another brand the Duchess favours is Emmy Shoes. Kate has a few pairs of suede pumps and matching clutches by the brand. Pippa Middleton is also a fan; below we see Kate's brown pair.
In Part 2, we'll be looking at Kate's casual shoes and her (to die for) collection of boots. For our new readers we've had similar posts on Kate's apparel and beauty favourites:
